Studiendauer refers to the planned or actual duration of a course of study at a university or other higher education institution. In Germany, it is often referred to as Regelstudienzeit, or standard period of study. This is the time frame within which a program is designed to be completed and is typically determined by the number of credit points required and the expected workload. For example, a Bachelor's degree program often has a Regelstudienzeit of six semesters, while a Master's program might be two or four semesters.
