Streltsys
The Streltsy were a corps of Russian archers and musketeers who formed the primary infantry force of the Tsardom of Russia from the 16th to the early 18th century. Established by Ivan the Terrible in the mid-16th century, they were professional soldiers who received pay, land, and firearms. Initially, they were a loyal and formidable military unit, playing a significant role in campaigns and the defense of Moscow. The Streltsy were equipped with arquebuses, swords, and sometimes axes, and were known for their distinctive fur hats.
