Steinbach-Hallenberg is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district, in Thuringia, Germany. It is located in the Thuringian Forest, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Schmalkalden and 18 kilometers northwest of Meiningen. The town was formed in 2007 through the merger of the former municipalities of Steinbach-Hallenberg, Bernshausen, Oberschönau, and Unterschönau.
