Staubartigen

Staubartigen, also known as dust mites, are microscopic arachnids that live in the environment inside homes, particularly in mattresses, bedding, carpets, and upholstered furniture. They are a common allergen and can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Dust mites are not true mites but are related to spiders and ticks. They are about the size of a poppy seed and have eight legs, but no antennae. Their life cycle includes four stages: egg, larva, nymph, and adult. Dust mites feed on dead skin cells and other organic matter, which they filter from the air using their mouthparts. They are most active at night and can live for several months. Dust mites are found worldwide and are a significant cause of allergic rhinitis and asthma in humans. Effective control measures include regular cleaning, vacuuming with a HEPA filter, and the use of dust mite-proof covers for bedding.
