Statorian

Statorian refers to a philosophical concept concerning the nature of time and existence, particularly the idea that reality is fundamentally unchanging and static. Proponents of statorianism, often called statorians, argue that the passage of time as we perceive it is an illusion. They posit that all moments, past, present, and future, exist simultaneously in a timeless dimension. This view contrasts sharply with dynamic theories of time, which emphasize temporal flow and change as essential components of reality.

The core of statorian thought lies in the belief that the universe is a single, eternal, unchanging whole. Events that appear to unfold over time are merely different aspects of this singular, static reality, much like different frames in a film reel all exist at once, but are perceived sequentially. This perspective often draws parallels with certain interpretations of physics, such as the block universe model, where spacetime is seen as a four-dimensional manifold containing all events.

Statorians often engage in metaphysical arguments to support their position, questioning the very possibility of genuine temporal change. They might argue that if time truly passed, then something would have to fundamentally alter, which they consider impossible for ultimate reality. The subjective experience of time's passage is typically explained as a limitation of human consciousness or perception, rather than an objective feature of the universe. While not a widely held philosophical stance, statorianism offers a distinct viewpoint on fundamental questions of existence and temporality.
