Standardpris

Standardpris, or standard price, is a term used to describe the price that a seller considers the typical or baseline price for a product or service. It is often used as a reference point for customers and for price comparisons. In Swedish commerce the concept overlaps with terms such as listpris (list price) and rekommenderat pris (recommended price), though there are nuanced differences: the list price may be the price published in a catalog or price list, while the recommended price is suggested by the manufacturer and may not be binding for sellers.

Retailers and suppliers commonly display a standardpris in catalogs, on product pages, or in price lists. It functions as an anchor that helps customers assess value and understand potential savings when promotional or campaign prices are offered. For business buyers, the standardpris can also appear in quotations or formal price lists as the basis for negotiated terms.

Regulatory and consumer-protection considerations exist in many markets. When a standardpris is used or advertised, rules often require clear labeling to avoid misleading the consumer. If the actual selling price differs from the stated standardpris, disclosures such as “rekommenderat pris” or “tidigare pris” may be required to indicate the nature of the price.

Relation to other pricing concepts varies: the standardpris is not inherently the final transactional price, which can be reduced through discounts, coupons, membership pricing, or bundled offers. It is best understood as a reference or baseline price within a broader pricing strategy.
