Stabilizátorbok

Stabilizátorbok, often referred to as a sway bar or anti-roll bar, is a common automotive suspension component designed to reduce body roll when cornering. It is typically a U-shaped metal bar that connects the left and right sides of the suspension. The ends of the bar are attached to the suspension arms or chassis, and the center of the bar is usually mounted to the vehicle's frame via rubber bushings.

The primary function of a stabilizátorbok is to resist the tendency of the vehicle's body to lean or roll to one side during a turn. When a vehicle corners, centrifugal force pushes outward on the vehicle. This force can cause the suspension on the outside of the turn to compress and the suspension on the inside of the turn to extend, resulting in body roll. The stabilizátorbok counteracts this by twisting. As one side of the suspension compresses, it forces the stabilizátorbok to twist, which in turn pushes down on the opposite side, helping to keep the vehicle level.

The stiffness of the stabilizátorbok can be adjusted or varied depending on the vehicle's intended use. A stiffer stabilizátorbok will reduce body roll more effectively but can also lead to a harsher ride and may make the vehicle more prone to oversteer. Conversely, a softer stabilizátorbok will allow for more body roll but can provide a more comfortable ride and potentially improve handling by allowing the suspension to articulate more freely. In some high-performance vehicles, multiple stabilizátorok may be used, or their stiffness might be adjustable.
