Spänningsförluster

Spänningsförluster, or voltage drop, refers to the reduction in electrical potential along a conductor when current flows through it. This phenomenon is a direct consequence of Ohm's Law, which states that voltage drop across a resistor is equal to the product of current and resistance (V = IR). In electrical circuits, all conductors, including wires and components, possess some inherent resistance.

When electrical current travels through these resistive elements, energy is dissipated, primarily as heat. This dissipation of energy leads to a decrease in the electrical potential from the source to the load. The magnitude of the spänningsförlust depends on several factors: the current flowing through the conductor, the resistance of the conductor, and the length of the conductor. Higher currents and greater resistance result in larger voltage drops. Similarly, longer conductors, with their increased total resistance, will exhibit more significant spänningsförluster.
