Spridningsförluster

Spridningsförluster, often translated as transmission losses or distribution losses, refers to the energy lost during the transmission and distribution of electricity. This loss primarily occurs in the electrical grid, from power generation plants to end-users.

The main cause of spridningsförluster is the resistance of the conductors used in power lines. As electricity flows through these wires, a portion of the electrical energy is converted into heat due to this resistance, following Joule's law. This heat dissipates into the environment, representing a loss of usable energy.
