Spoornetten
Spoornetten is a term used to refer to South Africa’s national rail network and, historically, the freight operations associated with that network. In official use the term described the interconnected system of tracks, signaling, yards and maintenance facilities that form the backbone of South Africa’s rail freight infrastructure. The name also appeared in reference to Spoornet, the freight arm of the state-owned Transnet group.
