Spilanthoides

It is closely related to the genus Spilanthes, from which it was separated based on differences in flower structure and chromosome numbers. Spilanthoides species are typically annual herbs, although some are perennial. They are characterized by their daisy-like flowers, which are usually yellow or white, and their hairy or glandular stems and leaves. The flowers are typically arranged in a flat-topped cluster, with a central disc surrounded by ray florets. The genus includes around 15 species, which are distributed across North and South America. Spilanthoides plants are often used in landscaping and as ornamental plants due to their attractive flowers and low maintenance requirements. They are also used in traditional medicine in some regions, although their medicinal properties are not well-documented.
