Spektrikontrolli, or spectral control, is a concept in optics and photonics that describes methods for regulating the spectral content of light or signals to achieve a desired spectral power distribution. It is used across research and industry to tailor color, brightness, energy efficiency, and information capacity.

The core principle is to manage which wavelengths are transmitted, reflected, or emitted by a system. This is achieved with passive components such as optical filters, interference coatings, prisms, gratings, and diffractive elements, as well as with active devices that modify the spectrum in real time. Dynamic control relies on tunable filters, liquid-crystal devices, MEMS-based shutters, acousto-optic modulators, and programmable light sources to vary the spectrum on demand.

Applications of spectrikontrolli span several fields. In lighting and displays, spectral control influences color rendering and efficiency. In spectroscopy and analytical instrumentation, it improves signal selectivity and noise rejection. In photography and cinematography, it helps achieve faithful color reproduction.
