Spektrigrammeja

Spektrigrammeja, also known as spectrograms, are visual representations of the spectrum of frequencies in a signal as they vary with time. They are widely used in various fields such as audio signal processing, speech recognition, music information retrieval, and seismology. A spectrogram is essentially a two-dimensional graph that displays the intensity of different frequencies over time.

The process of creating a spectrogram involves dividing the signal into short-time frames, applying a window function to each frame to reduce spectral leakage, and then computing the Fourier transform of each windowed frame. The magnitude of the Fourier transform is then plotted as a function of time and frequency. The resulting graph shows the intensity of each frequency component over time, with color or grayscale representing the amplitude of the signal at each frequency and time.

Spectrograms are particularly useful for analyzing non-stationary signals, where the frequency content changes over time. They provide a comprehensive view of the signal's frequency components and their evolution, making them an invaluable tool for understanding and interpreting complex signals.
