Spaniarin

Spaniarin is a constructed language (conlang) created for speculative fiction and worldbuilding to depict the Iberian region in an alternate timeline. It is presented as a Romance language descended from Iberian Romance, sharing ancestry with Spanish but diverging through phonological changes, vocabulary innovation, and new grammatical developments. In common portrayals, Spaniarin functions as the dominant language of the fictional state of Hispalia and its neighboring communities, while coexisting with other languages in the imagined world.

Phonology and writing: Spaniarin uses a Latin-based alphabet with diacritics to mark stress and vowel quality. It retains five vowels and a range of consonants typical of Iberian languages, but features regular phonetic shifts that distinguish it from modern Spanish, including certain changes to voicing and occasional palatalization.
