Soojuspritside

Soojuspritside, often translated as heat spray or thermal spray, is a collective term for a group of coating processes that use heat to melt and propel material onto a substrate. This creates a protective or functional layer. The fundamental principle involves heating a material, typically in powder or wire form, to a molten or semi-molten state, and then accelerating it towards the workpiece using a gas stream or other propulsion method. Upon impact, the molten particles flatten, solidify, and bond with the substrate, forming a cohesive coating.

Various thermal spray techniques exist, differing primarily in their heat source and propulsion method. Plasma spraying utilizes a plasma torch, generating extremely high temperatures capable of melting refractory materials. High-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) spraying involves the combustion of fuel and oxygen, creating a high-speed gas jet that propels the molten particles. Arc spraying uses an electric arc to melt wire feedstock, which is then atomized and propelled by compressed air. Flame spraying, the oldest method, uses a fuel gas flame to melt a wire or powder.

The applications of soojuspritside are diverse, ranging from wear resistance and corrosion protection to thermal insulation and electrical conductivity. Industries such as aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing widely employ these coatings to enhance component lifespan and performance. The specific material and spraying technique chosen depend on the desired coating properties and the substrate material.
