Solglasögon

Solglasögon, commonly known as sunglasses, are a type of protective eyewear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight and high-energy visible light from damaging or discomforting the eyes. They achieve this through the use of tinted, polarized, or darkened lenses. The tint of the lenses reduces the amount of visible light that passes through, making them more comfortable to wear in bright conditions.

Beyond reducing glare and improving visual comfort, modern solglasögon offer significant protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Prolonged exposure to UV rays, particularly UVA and UVB, can contribute to various eye problems, including cataracts, macular degeneration, and photokeratitis (sunburn of the cornea).
