Soistuneet

Soistuneet is a Finnish adjective used to describe land, soil, or terrain that has become damp, waterlogged, or swampy. The term stems from the verb soistua, meaning to become boggy, and is related to the noun soi, a bog or marsh. In practice, soistuneet describes areas where moisture is high, the ground is soft, and bearing capacity is reduced. English translations include boggy, marshy, or waterlogged.

Soistuneet areas are common in low-lying or peat-rich landscapes, coastal zones, or regions where drainage has degraded.
