Slyaris
Slyaris is a fictional planet featured in the science fiction novel "The Last Starship" by author Alex Vance. The planet is depicted as a tidally locked world, meaning one side perpetually faces its star, Solara, while the other remains in eternal darkness. This unique celestial arrangement results in extreme environmental conditions. The sun-facing side, known as the "Sunlands," is a scorched, arid desert with intense radiation, making it largely uninhabitable for most known life forms. Conversely, the dark side, or "Shadowlands," is locked in a perpetual, frigid twilight, characterized by vast ice sheets and sub-zero temperatures.
Life on Slyaris is said to exist primarily in the "Twilight Zone," a narrow band between the
