Skärmstruktur

Skärmstruktur refers to the physical composition and arrangement of layers within a display screen. This structure is fundamental to how a display produces and presents images. In modern electronic displays, such as those found in smartphones, televisions, and computer monitors, skärmstruktur typically involves a sandwich of several specialized materials.

At its core, a display screen often includes a substrate, which is usually glass or a flexible plastic. On top of this substrate are layers responsible for light generation and control. For example, in an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), this involves a backlight, polarizing filters, liquid crystal layers, and color filters. The backlight provides the illumination, the polarizing filters manipulate light orientation, the liquid crystals act as shutters to control the passage of light, and the color filters add the necessary red, green, and blue components to create a full-color image.

In OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) displays, the skärmstruktur differs as each pixel emits its own light. These displays typically consist of organic semiconductor layers sandwiched between two electrodes. When an electric current is applied, these organic layers emit light. Further layers in an OLED screen might include encapsulation to protect the sensitive organic materials and a top electrode or substrate.

The specific design and materials used in the skärmstruktur significantly impact the display's performance characteristics, including its brightness, contrast ratio, color accuracy, viewing angles, power consumption, and durability. Innovations in skärmstruktur are continually aimed at improving these aspects and enabling new display technologies.
