Skjálftanna
Skjálftanna is an Icelandic term that translates to "of the earthquakes" or "the earthquakes". It is not a specific geological event or a singular entity, but rather a descriptive phrase used in Icelandic to refer to seismic activity. When Icelanders say "skjálftanna", they are generally referring to the earthquakes that occur in or around Iceland, a country situated on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and therefore highly seismically active.
The frequency and intensity of earthquakes in Iceland are a direct consequence of its geological location.
