Sjöbrisens is a Swedish term that translates to "sea breeze" in English. It describes the localized wind phenomenon that occurs along coastlines and large bodies of water. This weather pattern is a result of differential heating between land and water. During the day, land heats up more quickly than water when exposed to sunlight. The warmer air above the land becomes less dense and rises, creating an area of lower atmospheric pressure. Cooler, denser air from over the water then moves in to replace the rising air, resulting in a breeze blowing from the sea towards the land.
