Sittsill

Sittsill is a fictional mineral described in speculative fiction and world-building exercises. It is not a real substance. In many depictions, Sittsill is a dense, richly colored crystalline material valued for exceptional energy density and stability under a wide range of temperatures and pressures.

Characterizations vary by author, but a common thread is a layered or hexagonal crystal structure that allows fast ion intercalation, contributing to high performance in energy storage applications. Some texts attribute a nominal chemical composition to Sittsill, often described as a silicon-sulfur alloy or compound, though there is no standardized formula across works.

In fiction, Sittsill is said to form in subduction-zone belts and meteorite impact deposits, or in deep crustal crystallization zones.
