Sitamarhi
Sitamarhi is a town and the administrative headquarters of Sitamarhi district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is located in the Mithila region, near the border with Nepal. The district was created on 3 June 1972 by bifurcating Muzaffarpur district. Sitamarhi holds religious significance in Hindu tradition as the traditional birthplace of Sita, the heroine of the Ramayana. The town hosts the Janaki Temple complex and the Sita Kund, sites that attract pilgrims, especially during Ram Navami and Sita Jayanti.
