Sisupõhised

Sisupõhised are a type of Estonian broadcast television service, introduced in 2004. They offer a variety of channels and programming, catering to a wide range of interests and audiences. Unlike their counterparts, Estonian public broadcasting channels ETV and ETV2, sisupõhised are not state-funded or governed by the public broadcasting authority.

Sisupõhised satellite broadcasting was initiated by ValiTV, an Estonian private television broadcaster, with the aim of providing a more diverse range of content to viewers. The service was initially available through the DVB-S (Digital Video Broadcasting - Satellite) platform. Continued modifications have seen the service move towards digital platforms, including a move to encrypted DVB-C (Digital Video Broadcasting - Cable) in the late 2000s.

Sisupõhised satellite and digital cable subscription services have offered a combination of Estonian and international programming, including dramas, series, reality TV, news, and cultural programs. A primary focus of these services is on catering to viewers with a specific regional presence, including localizing news, sports, and cultural programming to particular geographic areas.

Throughout its operations, ValiTV, the original network activating sisupõhised, has generally followed the sender's directive schedule principles for broadcast license format provisions with the Estonian Broadcasting Board's federal regulations. Commercial, locally made, and broadcast content has diversified however, with increasing relevance of pan-European merchant network productions.
