Sisunds

Sisunds are a traditional musical instrument originating from the Kalinga and related ethnic groups in the Cordillera region of the Philippines. The name "sisund" is derived from the Kalinga word *sisund*, meaning "to play" or "to sound." This instrument is a type of bamboo flute, typically crafted from hollowed bamboo tubes, and is often used in ceremonial and festive occasions.

The sisund is usually played in an ensemble, often accompanying other traditional instruments such as the *gong*, *tumbang*, and *kalinga drums*. It consists of a series of bamboo pipes of varying lengths, each producing a distinct pitch.
