Sisele is a small town and commune in the western Valorian highlands, located along the Sisel River. It serves as the administrative center of Sisele Municipality and lies about 60 kilometers north of the regional capital. The etymology of the name Sisele is uncertain. Some scholars link it to the old Valorian word sisil, meaning meadow by water, while others tie it to a clan name from early settlers.

Geography and climate: Sisele sits at roughly 320 meters above sea level, with a temperate oceanic climate. The region receives moderate rainfall, supporting grain crops, apples, and pasture.

History: The settlement appears in records from the 12th century, growing around a riverside crossing. It developed as an agricultural market town and gained limited local autonomy in the late medieval period. In the 19th and 20th centuries, transport improvements and administrative reforms shaped its role as a district center.
