Sisähammastetut

Sisähammastetut refers to a type of internal gearing where the teeth are on the inside circumference of a ring or hub, rather than on the outside of a shaft or gear. This design is often used in applications requiring compact power transmission or where a larger gear ratio is needed within a confined space.

The fundamental principle of sisähammastetut involves a smaller pinion gear meshing with the internal teeth of a larger ring gear. The larger ring gear is typically stationary or driven at a slower speed than the pinion. The contact between the teeth occurs on the inner surface of the ring gear. This arrangement can achieve significant gear reductions, meaning the output shaft rotates much slower than the input shaft while torque is increased.
