Sionnan

Sionnan is a traditional Welsh musical instrument, primarily associated with the Welsh-speaking regions of south Wales. It is a type of bagpipe, though it differs significantly from the better-known Scottish bagpipes in both construction and sound. The name "Sionnan" derives from the Welsh word for "south," reflecting its regional origins.

The instrument consists of a leather bag, typically made from sheep or goat skin, which is inflated by the player’s breath or by a bellows-like mechanism.
