Singlefoil refers to a type of boat hull design characterized by a single, sharp edge running along its length. This edge, often called a "chine," is a defining feature that differentiates it from rounded or multi-chine hulls. The primary purpose of a singlefoil hull is to enhance stability and performance, particularly in certain types of watercraft.

The sharp chine of a singlefoil design helps to "bite" into the water, providing a stable platform that resists rolling.
