Silvaplana

Silvaplana is a municipality in the Maloja district of the canton of Graubünden in eastern Switzerland. It is situated in the Upper Engadin valley, a high-alpine region known for its stunning natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The municipality encompasses the village of Silvaplana itself, as well as the hamlets of Champfèr and Surlej.

The village of Silvaplana lies on the western shore of Lake Silvaplana, a picturesque glacial lake fed by the nearby rivers. The lake is a popular destination for water sports, particularly windsurfing and kitesurfing, due to the consistent and strong winds that sweep through the valley.
