Silanolernas
Silanolernas is a term sometimes used in organic chemistry to refer to compounds containing a silicon-oxygen-hydrogen group, specifically a silicon atom bonded to an oxygen atom, which is in turn bonded to a hydrogen atom. This functional group, often represented as Si-O-H, is analogous to the hydroxyl group (-OH) found in alcohols, but with silicon replacing carbon. These silanol functionalities can arise from the hydrolysis of silyl halides or alkoxysilanes.
Silanols are reactive species and can undergo various transformations. They are known to participate in condensation
The properties and reactivity of silanols are influenced by the other substituents attached to the silicon
