Sideear

Sideear refers to a type of in-ear monitor (IEM) system used primarily by musicians and audio engineers. It allows performers to hear a mix of their own instruments or voice, along with other elements of the music, directly in their ears. This contrasts with traditional monitor wedges, which are speakers placed on the stage floor.

The primary advantage of sideear systems is improved sound quality and isolation. By directing sound directly into the ear canal, performers can achieve a clearer and more controlled listening experience, reducing the need to crank up stage volumes. The transmitter can be connected to the main soundboard or a dedicated monitor mixer.
