Sialkot

Sialkot is a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is one of Pakistan's wealthiest cities and a major industrial and export center. The city is a significant hub for the production of footballs, with a substantial portion of the world's footballs being manufactured in Sialkot.

Historically, Sialkot has roots dating back to ancient times. It is believed to have been founded by Raja Shal, a descendant of Raja Ram Chandar, and was named Shal-kot, meaning "Fort of Shal." The city has witnessed various periods of rule, including by the Greeks, Sikhs, and Mughals, before becoming part of British India. After the partition of India in 1947, Sialkot became part of Pakistan.
