Shrime

Shrime is a term that can refer to a few different things, primarily a type of shrine or altar, and also historically as a place of sanctuary. In its most common usage, a shrime is a small structure or niche, often found in a home or public space, dedicated to a deity or religious figure. These shrines typically contain an image, statue, or other representation of the object of veneration, and are adorned with offerings such as flowers, incense, or candles. The practice of maintaining shrines is prevalent in various religious traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, and Shinto.

Historically, the concept of a shrime also extended to a place offering protection or immunity from arrest or harm.
