Sheet2A1 is a textual label that is often used to refer to the cell A1 on a worksheet named Sheet2 within a multi-sheet workbook. In standard spreadsheet notation, cross-sheet references use the sheet name followed by an exclamation mark and the cell address, for example Sheet2!A1. The string Sheet2A1 without punctuation is not a typical formula reference, but it may appear as an identifier in data, such as a named range or a label in documentation.

In practical use, to retrieve or compute values from cell A1 on Sheet2, formulas in Excel or Google Sheets typically use Sheet2!A1. If the sheet name contains spaces or special characters, the reference is written as 'Sheet 2'!A1. The nonstandard form Sheet2A1 can also be a user-defined named range that refers to Sheet2!A1, allowing formulas to use Sheet2A1 as a single token instead of the explicit sheet reference.

Named ranges and cross-sheet references can become brittle if sheets are renamed or deleted. External references to a different workbook require additional syntax, such as [WorkbookName]Sheet2!A1. Proper naming and documentation help maintain clarity when linking cells across multiple sheets.
