Shangrao

Shangrao is a prefecture-level city located in the southeast of Jiangxi Province in southern China. It has a population of approximately 2.93 million people and covers an area of 18,816 square kilometers. Shangrao is the largest prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province and is part of the Chang-Jiang Economic Zone.

The city has a long and complex history, with archaeological evidence showing human habitation dating back to the Paleolithic era. It was an important center of the ancient K justification State during the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The city experienced significant growth and development during the Ming Dynasty, with the establishment of a county seat in the 18th century.
