Sevolinikel is a novel antiviral medication developed by the pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences. It is specifically designed to treat hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections, particularly those caused by the genotype 1b strain, which is one of the most prevalent and difficult-to-treat subtypes. Sevolinikel works by inhibiting the HCV nonstructural protein 5A (NS5A), a key enzyme involved in the replication of the virus.
