Subordinating conjunctions join a dependent clause to an independent clause. They introduce words like "at" (that), "for" (because), "siden" (since), "mens" (while), and "om" (if). For example, in the sentence "Jeg vil gå ut, siden det er fint vær" (I will go out because the weather is nice), "siden" is a subordinating conjunction that connects the dependent clause "det er fint vær" to the independent clause "Jeg vil gå ut".
