Seroosikalvojen

Seroosikalvojen is a large drumless marsh wetland located in the Võru County of Estonia. It is situated about 24 kilometers east of the city of Võru, off the Võru-Uduvere road. The marsh covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometers and is part of the larger Elva River basin.

Geologically, the wetland is characterized by deposits of glacial clay and sand, which have been shaped by the force of the Elva River over thousands of years. The resulting terrain is generally flat, with slight elevations and depressions. The peat soil in Seroosikalvojen's core is deep and thick, which has significantly changed the regional hydrology.

The local ecosystem of Seroosikalvojen is known for its diversity of plant species, with both terrestrial and aquatic species present. Key plant species include cloudberry, blueberry, and sedge, which have their habitats in the travertine (alvar) ridges surrounding the marsh.
