SenecaCayuga refers to the Seneca and Cayuga Nations, two of the six nations that comprise the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Historically, both the Seneca and Cayuga were significant members of this powerful alliance, often referred to as the Iroquois League by European colonists. Their traditional territories were located in what is now upstate New York. The Seneca Nation is the largest of the Six Nations, historically known as the "Keepers of the Western Door." The Cayuga Nation, also historically prominent, was situated between the Seneca and Onondaga territories.
