Semigroupeissa

Semigroupeissa, often translated as "in semigroups," refers to the study and properties of algebraic structures known as semigroups. A semigroup is a set equipped with an associative binary operation. This means that for any elements a, b, and c in the set, the operation (a b) c is equal to a (b c). The operation does not necessarily have an identity element, which distinguishes it from a group. If a semigroup does have an identity element, it is called a monoid.

The theory of semigroups is a broad area of abstract algebra. Researchers explore various types of semigroups, including commutative semigroups (where a b = b a), regular semigroups (where for every element a, there exists an element x such that a x a = a), and completely simple semigroups.
