Sementtilaatta
Sementtilaatta, often referred to as cement tile or encaustic cement tile, is a decorative floor and wall covering material. Unlike traditional ceramic tiles which are fired in a kiln, cement tiles are made from a mixture of cement, sand, and pigments. The design is created by pouring a colored cement slurry into a mold that has a metal divider defining the pattern. This slurry is then pressed under hydraulic pressure to compact it. Following the pressing, the tiles are cured in water for several weeks, allowing the cement to harden.
The production process gives cement tiles a distinctive matte finish and a rich, depth of color. They
