Sejeti

Sejeti refers to a small ethnic group and their language in the Nyadari Basin, a fictional region in the country of Lethara. The Sejeti people are estimated at about 40,000, with around 25,000 speakers of the Sejeti language, which is the sole language associated with the group.

Traditionally, Sejeti communities are concentrated along the Nyari River valley, with villages in the lowland foothills and coastal towns. The economy centers on small-scale agriculture, fishing, and crafts such as weaving and pottery.

The Sejeti language belongs to the Sejati language family and has two main dialects, North Sejeti and South Sejeti. It is commonly written in Latin script in schools and local media.

Historical origins are traced to medieval migrations, with later interactions through trade and occasional colonial influence. Cultural life emphasizes communal ceremonies, music featuring bamboo flutes, and traditional textile weaving, governed by local councils and kinship groups.

Today, language preservation efforts include bilingual education and cultural programs supported by regional authorities and non-governmental organizations. Notable figures include Sejeti scholars and artists who contribute to regional literature and music.
