Seguidora

Seguidora is a feminine noun in Spanish meaning a person who follows someone else, especially on social networks or in fan communities. The masculine form is seguidor; together they are used to refer to followers, with plural seguidores, seguidoras, or mixed-gender usage depending on context. The term derives from seguir, to follow, with the agentive suffix -dora.

In digital platforms, a seguidora is someone who subscribes to or follows another user’s updates, enabling the follower to view posts and interact with content. Influencers, public figures, and brands often distinguish between seguidores (the followers as a group) and engagement metrics, such as likes, comments, and shares. Seguidoras may form part of a fan base that actively supports, promotes, or discusses a creator’s work. The word can also be used beyond social media to describe adherents or devotees, such as seguidoras of a cause, movement, or leader.

Usage notes: because Spanish gender agreement requires care, “seguidoras” explicitly marks female followers, while “seguidores” can be used generically for a mixed or male-dominated group. Some platforms use gender-neutral labels or simply the term seguidores to denote the entire audience.
