Scleropages
Scleropages is a genus of freshwater fish belonging to the family Osteoglossidae, commonly known as arowanas. There are currently two recognized species within this genus, both endemic to Australia. Scleropages formosus, the Asian arowana, is sometimes included but is now classified in the genus Scleropages. The genus is characterized by its elongated body, large scales, and a distinctive upturned mouth. They are predatory fish, feeding on insects, crustaceans, and smaller fish.
