Schauminhibitoren
Schauminhibitoren, also known as foam control agents or antifoams, are chemical substances added to liquids to prevent or suppress the formation of foam. Foam is undesirable in many industrial processes and applications because it can reduce efficiency, cause overflow, and interfere with product quality. Schauminhibitoren work by reducing the surface tension of the liquid, making it more difficult for bubbles to form and stabilize. They can also disrupt the lamellae, the thin liquid films that enclose the bubbles, causing them to collapse.
The mechanism of action for a Schauminhibitor often involves spreading rapidly over the surface of the liquid
Applications for Schauminhibitoren are widespread, ranging from the food and beverage industry, where they are used
