Satoisuuden

Satoisuuden is a Finnish noun that denotes the state or degree of yield and productivity, particularly in agricultural and biological contexts. In farming, it is commonly translated as yield and refers to the amount of harvest obtained per unit area, typically per hectare. The term can also describe fertility or fecundity in biological populations, and more broadly the productive capacity of a system. The genitive form satoisuuden is used in phrases such as satoisuuden vaihtelu (variation in yield) and satoisuuden lisääminen (increase of yield).

In practice, satoisuus is measured by calculating harvest weight relative to area to produce yield per hectare, often along with quality metrics.
