Samneyslus, also known as *Samsøysla* or *Samsøysla ís*, is a traditional Icelandic ice cream-like dessert made primarily from fermented skyr, a type of yogurt, and sugar. The dish has historical roots in Icelandic cuisine, particularly among rural communities, where dairy products were a staple. The name *samneyslus* is derived from the Icelandic words *samn* (meaning "together" or "mixed") and *ysla* (a term for a sweetened dairy product), reflecting its simple yet creamy composition.
