Samarangs

The samarang is a type of bird of paradise (Paradisaeidae family) native to the tropical forests of the Celebes (Sulawesi) and surrounding islands in Indonesia. Specifically, the genus Paradisaea includes several species of samarang birds, which are characterized by their striking plumage and impressive courtship displays.

The samarang species are medium-sized birds, typically measuring between 70 and 90 cm (28-35 in) in length, with a weight range of 200-300 grams (7-11 oz). Their striking plumage features intricate patterns of iridescent greens, blues, and reds, with the males exhibiting more vibrant colors than the females.
