Salvestusplaat

Salvestusplaat is a small, uninhabited island located in the southwestern part of the Netherlands, specifically within the province of South Holland. Situated in the Grevelingenmeer, a large brackish lake formed after the closure of the Grevelingendam in 1969, the island lies near the former town of Grevelingen, which was flooded as part of the Delta Works project. Salvestusplaat is part of the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and is surrounded by water on all sides.

The island is notable for its ecological significance. It serves as a nesting ground for various bird species, including seagulls, terns, and cormorants. The area is also a popular spot for birdwatching due to its rich biodiversity.
